Knaresborough in Bloom Annual Awards Evening

Once again Knaresborough House is the venue for Knaresborough
in Bloom’s annual celebration of floral excellence in local gardens.
General opinion is that the summer was good from a gardeners point of view,
certainly there has been a good deal of wind and rain but plenty of sunshine
too, and Knaresborough’s growing army of gardeners has been working
hard to make their gardens as good as any anywhere. All this hard work will
be rewarded tonight when Mavis Clemmitt, the mayor of Knaresborough presents
the certificates and cups at the annual awards evening.
Chair of Knaresborough in Bloom, Christine Willoughby remarked “The
competition was fierce this year and we had a number of gardens which our
judges decided were exactly equal. This has never happened before and I think
it means that all our gardeners are putting in more effort and achieving a
better result. I am delighted that Sue Wood, an In Bloom judge and HBC Parks
officer is our guest speaker tonight. I’m sure the gardeners of Knaresborough
will be interested in what she has to say”
