A packed Knaresborough House on Friday 21st September saw Knaresborough in Bloom announcing the results of the local gardens competition. Guest speaker Lynda Fussell from the Harrogate District Biodiversity Action Group spoke about the continuing need to provide both wildlife friendly planting and facilities for insects. Mayor of Knaresborough Councillor John Batt presented the awards to the winning gardeners. Chair of Knaresborough in Bloom Christine Willoughby remarked "Yet again the gardeners of Knaresborough have excelled themselves. Despite a difficult summer, with some truly dreadful weather, extreme rain and general lack of sun, the gardens in the town looked amazing. Well done to everyone, even if you didn't win a prize, you are all winners!"

The results of the national Britain in Bloom judging will be announced in Guernsey on 6th October.
