Autumn in Knaresborough

As 2017 winds to an end, Knaresborough in Bloom has finally finished the autumn planting season. The bulbs are all planted, all the summer bedding cleared away and spring flowering plants are now growing gently away waiting for the warmer weather of spring to burst into colourful life. Our year ends on 31st December and we start in January with our AGM. In 2018 it will be 15 years since the present Knaresborough in Bloom group was formed and our AGM is our chance to reflect on the past year and make plans for the future. One definite is the plan to once again enter Yorkshire in Bloom in the Large Town category. We will be contacting town organisations in the New Year to find out how they might help with our entry and hopefully support Knaresborough in Bloom to get a good result. As ever we are always keen to get more helpers on board so please if you feel you could help, get in touch. On a practical note, our working mornings are suspended for winter, the last one was on November 2nd when our Mediterranean Garden on Park Row was tidied up for the winter. We will start again with the working mornings in spring, however in the meantime our sister group “The Friends of Bebra Gardens” are continuing with their working mornings every Tuesday.
More information on our activities can be found on our website www.knaresboroughinbloom.co.uk and on our Facebook page @knaresboroughinbloom
